Pasha’s already giving back after vision surgery

June 12, 2025

Do you remember Pasha? In December, we shared his story. His dad died when he was ten, and his mom died when he was fifteen.

But Pasha isn’t alone now! He has new friends at Last Bell.

Last year, our staff took Pasha for a vision exam. “His vision was only at 30% — every day was a challenge,” writes staff member Ilya. “Even simple tasks felt overwhelming.”

In March, your generosity covered eye surgery for Pasha. Plus our staff visited and brought medications, usually a role reserved for family.

Ilya writes,

This transformation opened new doors for him. He was able to get a job at a factory, where precision and attention to detail are crucial. With his improved eyesight, his work has become much easier and more manageable.

Pasha is also actively involved in the life of Last Bell. He regularly attends a home group at my house. When he has time off from work on weekends, he comes to the Day Center. At one recent gathering, Pasha was the one grilling meat for all the youth — a simple yet heartfelt gesture that speaks louder than words.

His life has become brighter — both literally and figuratively. Pasha embraces this new chapter with deep gratitude, an open heart, and a sincere desire to serve others.

To sum up, Ilya writes, Pasha lives “in a completely new way!”

Vision care is just one way God’s love flows through your gifts to orphaned youth like Pasha. Thank you for caring and helping!
