Our deepest desire is for orphaned youth to know they’re loved by God, understand the good news about Jesus, and find restoration in Him. Our staff follow a healthy plan to spiritually care for our youth, in partnership with local churches.
Meet Physical Needs
Before our youth can believe God loves them, they sometimes need to receive love from people. Every doctor’s appointment, bag of groceries, or pair of shoes shows God’s love in action.
Share the Good News
Our staff share Jesus with students in Educational Outreach activities, with families at Stop the Cycle, and one-on-one. Youth often ask questions about spiritual things. Did you see the exciting news in the last post? At student camp, seven orphaned students decided to follow Jesus!
Discipleship and the Local Church
A nonprofit isn’t a substitute for the church. Staff members help youth find a local church where they’re comfortable attending and getting involved, usually alongside others in the Last Bell community. We also offer discipleship, and home groups that include Bible study alongside conversations about independent life.
Celebrate Baptisms
In our community of churches in Zhytomyr, it’s traditional for new Christians to learn and grow for a while before baptism.
Anya is one of our students in the Educational Outreach program. She has an adoptive family, but as a former orphan she needs extra support. On July 21, she was baptized! “I have set my priorities correctly,” she said, “and the main priority should be God.”
When our youth take this important step in their church, our community shows up to celebrate!
Growing Christian Community
We’ve seen many orphaned youth grow into leaders. They serve in church, share their faith with younger peers, volunteer, and even join our staff. Our former orphans have become equal partners in this spiritual work!
Please pray for our staff and church friends as they share the good news about Jesus. And for orphaned youth, who’ve so often been “thrown away” by their family or society, pray for hearts open to God’s unconditional love.
Your gift helps orphaned young people hear about a God who loves them unconditionally.
